Not because everything suddenly becomes clear.
But because some things can no longer remain hidden.
Visibility
For a long time, much of my work lived in private.
Not because I did not believe in it.
But because visibility asks something from an artist that creating alone never does.
It asks you to let people see what you made.
And sometimes even more difficult—
it asks you to let people see you.
Becoming Visible
This collection became part of that lesson for me.
What began as a personal creative language slowly became a mirror.
Each figure reflecting some version of strength, sensitivity, survival, and self-definition.
And in many ways, these dolls arrived at the same moment I did.
Not finished.
Not perfected.
Just ready.
Ready to step into the world.
Ready to take up space.
Ready to be witnessed.
This year is not simply about turning fifty.
It is about becoming visible in a way I had postponed for far too long.
And maybe that is its own kind of art.
